Temari Sweets

Hello. Today, I would like to introduce “Amamidokoro Temari,” a popular rice-flour dumpling specialty store in Imajo-juku. You can see it as you climb the slope next to Kotokuen Garden (the site of the main camp).

This shop was renovated from the “Old Yamada House,” which is registered as a traditional building, and as soon as you open the door, you’ll be greeted by the nostalgic atmosphere of an old-fashioned house. The furniture and miscellaneous goods that match the old-fashioned house are also very nice, and you can enjoy the atmosphere to the fullest. After taking off your shoes and going through the entrance, you can order from the menu at the counter ahead.

There is a table space in the dirt floor and a tatami room in the back. It is a space where anyone can relax and unwind. Guests in wheelchairs can enjoy their meals in the dirt floor, and guests with children can also relax comfortably in the tatami room.

The taste and appearance are both excellent. Hotahota Shiratama with Tofu

I ordered the “Aji-gomi” recommended by the shop staff. It consisted of four kinds of shiratama dango and a large strawberry sandwiched with white bean paste. It came with bean paste, candied chestnuts, and mitarashi bean paste, which you can add to your liking. The leftmost one is a seasonal flavor, and today’s was “Sakura bean paste.” After all, all of Temari’s shiratama dango are made with more than half tofu. The healthy and mild flavor and soft, scalding texture were irresistibly delicious, and they looked and tasted great.
